1. 148th Street Nonmotorized Bridge (Shoreline)
Project Overview:
This project will complete the design phase and contribute partial construction funding for a pedestrian/bicycle bridge that spans Interstate 5 and connects west side neighborhoods to the north end of the Shoreline South/145th Station plaza area. Improvements will include ramps and stairs on both sides. The project will analyze safe pedestrian and bicycle connections to First Avenue NE and evaluate a drop-off/pickup area. Starting in spring 2013, the City of Shoreline engaged the community in a visioning process that identified improved east-west connectivity for pedestrians and bicyclists at this site as a key priority.

2. Town Center to Burke-Gilman Trail Connector (Lake Forest Park)
Project Overview:
This project includes a multimodal connector between Sound Transit SR 522/NE 145th Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations, the planned Sound Transit parking garage, Lake Forest Park Town Center, and the Burke-Gilman Trail (BGT). Currently, pedestrians and bicyclists must cross up to six high-volume vehicle lanes on State Route 522 near the Lake Forest Park Town Center and BGT. The connector will provide a separated structure or pathway to enable transit users to cross safely. A safer, easier connection to the BGT was one of the community’s top requests during public meetings focused on the upcoming Sound Transit BRT project.

This project contains a comprehensive pedestrian and biking access package that includes arterial crossings, pedestrian stairways and sidewalks (including curb ramps), pedestrian lighting, and neighborhood greenways (including accessible pedestrian signals). These projects are designed to address the community’s dual goals of complete nonmotorized networks and personal safety, which are particularly important to families and those with mobility impairments. This project compiles the community’s highest priority, ready-to-go unfunded investments.

4. Southeast Seattle High Priority Sidewalks and Walkways (Seattle)
Project Overview:
This package includes five blocks of new sidewalks, one new stairway connection, and one new signalized crossing improvement. These projects will provide direct, accessible, and comfortable pedestrian connections to four Sound Transit Link stations throughout southeast Seattle. They were prioritized based on safety, equity, health, and “age-friendly” factors, ensuring that they are targeting areas most in need of pedestrian improvements. All projects within this package are in the early phases of design and development, and were recommended and informed by city planning efforts.

5. Secure Bike Parking Expansion & Related Improvements (King County Metro)
Project Overview:
This project will improve mobility options for first/last mile connections at up to eight transit stations in King County for a wide range of transit riders. The project will expand the supply of secure electronic bike parking, short-term bike parking, and on-site wayfinding, and improve bike and pedestrian on-site circulation. It will also add bike and pedestrian counters to help evaluate modes of arrival at transit. The project will address insufficient supply of secure electronic bike parking, reduce on-site user conflicts, improve wayfinding, and help manage demand for car parking. Locations targeted for improvement include: Burien Transit Center; Renton Transit Center or Landing area; Evergreen Point Station; and five SR 522/NE 145th Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) station areas: NE 195th St; NE 145th Street; Ballinger Way NE; Bothell Way; and 73rd Ave NE.
